If you face electricity issues or power failures, there’s no need to panic. The government provides a 24/7 toll-free helpline: 118 for complaints related to power supply or meter defects. You can also send an SMS to 8118. All calls are recorded, and feedback is monitored to ensure timely resolution.

To lodge a complaint via the WAPDA Help Line (118), follow these steps:

  1. Dial 118.
  2. Press 1 for Urdu or 0 to speak with a representative.
  3. Provide your Reference Number from your bill.
  4. Explain your issue, such as unscheduled load-shedding or meter problems, including the duration of the outage.
  5. The representative will forward your complaint to the relevant office and send a complaint number via SMS.
  6. Save the complaint number to track the status of your complaint.

Complaints registered on 118 are generally addressed within 24 hours. The helpline’s performance is monitored, and officials are required to resolve issues promptly.

If multiple complaints come from the same area, the response is often fast-tracked, giving priority to the affected locality. Complaints via this number are treated as high priority, ensuring timely resolution.

After registering a complaint on 118, a representative will call to check whether your issue has been resolved. They will continue follow-ups until you confirm the problem is fixed.

If you are not satisfied with the response or timing, you can also send an SMS to 8118 for an immediate reply and resolution update.
